We just received our film scans from the Film Box Lab in Nashville, TN and we loved what we saw. So we wanted to share some fabulous photos from the Contax 645 using Fuji Pro 400H.

These two are such a gorgeous couple and were so patient while we were teaching Stephen and Stephanie.

Plus, they were extra patient while we were figuring out  our film camera!!

I love how Phil and Bit are holding close to each other! So intimate!

We had a few shots left on the roll of film, so we took a couple of Stephen + Stephanie right before the left to go back home to Wisconsin.

Even though it was raining, the photos still managed to turn out beautiful!

We can’t wait to share more gorgeousness from our most recent film scans!

This cheesecake tasted amazing!! Cory said this was his favorite cheesecake thus far. However, I am seriously feeling the weight gain from this one. I might need to get a personal trainer to keep me from getting fat or cut back on the cheesecakes.

I couldn’t find espresso powder at Trader Joe’s so I bought their finely ground espressso. It worked out great!

Below is the sequence in which order I put in the ingredients.

Cory is normally my crumb crusher, but since he wasn’t there at the time of making the cheesecake, I had to do the job.

Plus, since it was his birthday cheesecake he was exempt from the job!

I was so sad my cheesecake cracked. I was uncertain if the inside was cooked enough and left it in the oven longer than recommended. So it led to this!

Note: let all ingredients come to room temperature and when adding eggs, mix on lower speed. These both help prevent cracking. In my case, I still had a cracked cheesecake!

Also, please excuse the photo angles. I had to photograph and show the action of each step by myself. Not so bad, for holding camera in one hand and mixing ingredients in the other!

Ingredients: 

Crust:

1 1/2 cups crushed oreo crumbs

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Filling:

4 packages of cream cheese, softened

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup sour cream

4 eggs

1 tbsp instant espresso powder

1 tbsp hot water

1 tsp vanilla extract

3 oz. bittersweet chocolate, melted

Directions:

Crust: In a bowl, combine cookie crumbs and butter. Press into bottom of cheesecake pan and freeze.

Filling: In a small bowl, dissolve espresso powder in hot water, set aside.

In a mixer bowl fitted with paddle attachment, beat cream cheese and sugar on medium-high speed until very smooth, fo 3 minutes. Mix in sour cream. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. With the mixer running, pour in espresso in a steady stream. Mix in Vanilla

Stir 1 cup of the batter into melted chocolate and set aside. Pour remaining batter over frozen crust, smoothing out to sides of pan. using a spoon, drop six large puddles of melted chocolate mixture on top of batter. Using a small knife drag through the puddles in spiral motions to create a marbling effect. Bake in preheated oven until top is light brown and center has a slight jiggle to it. 45 to 55 minute. Let cool in pan on wire rack or 2 hours. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hrs before serving.

A little background on our friendship, we met in college at Indiana State. I was hanging out with a couple of my sorority sisters at a house they rented and met Kylie. (who was not in our sorority) That was Spring of  2007. Fast forward 6 years later and Kylie and I are both living in the Indianapolis area and attend the same church and while Cory and I have been on the adventure of being entrepreneurs and small business owners. Kylie is now starting a business of her own as an interior designer.

I remember when I first met Kylie that the only time we could sometimes hang out was if I went to the interior design building where she lived, I mean study.  I would hang out with her and all her other interior design major classmates. It was really her second home, she spend countless hours on design layouts and projects. She was President of the Interior Design Major Group called IDEA and Student rep to the board of ASID Indiana. Upon graduating she interned and then got job with Lehner Designs here in Indianapolis. I have seen some of Kylie’s work and it is truly amazing. She is truly beautiful inside and out. She loves the Lord and people. Kylie is one of the people that has an infectious personality. She loves to be around people and I think these are some of the characteristics that will help her succeed!

So with her business starting and growing, I photographed some head shots and portraits of her beautiful self. Enjoy a few favorites. Also, if you are looking for an interior designer, I really do recommend Kylie. She really listens to what you want and helps you to put together what you are looking for. When we get a house, I definitely will hire Kylie to be our personal interior designer.

It has been so neat to watch their family grow. They have such a beautiful family, and are some of the sweetest people ever.

David and Mary wanted photographs of  just them. Them now, how they are. I love this! This is something Cory and I have started doing for ourselves and encourage others to do. We are so often behind our cameras capturing other peoples lives, that we forget to get in front of the cameras ourselves.

Amira and Isaac will look back at the photos of their parents and remember how young and in love they were. How gorgeous their mom is and how much their daddy loves her.
